Summary background of the organization
This organization was developed to serve the Washington, DC community through quality programs and services.  As they draw strength from their spiritual and ancestral forces, clients are encouraged to lift themselves and those around them.  Unconditional self-love, self-efficacy, and self-worth are emphasized.

Obstacles
The communication challenges faced
Due to their location and constituency, this group must deal with a skeptical client base that has, for many reasons, a strong mistrust for social services.  They wanted to create something that would alleviate fears and welcome clients.

Design Response
The steps and solution taken by the CreateAThon design team
A new logo and brochure were developed with a strong sense of “breaking the cycle of poverty” as their main theme.  Intergenerational, family-oriented imagery helped to create the warm and inviting feeling the group had hoped for.
