Situation
Summary background of the organization
Since 1987, FPOW has provided companionship and an improved quality
of life to residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities
through a regular pet visitation. Currently this group has over
300 human (and even more animals/nonhumans!) that volunteer with
them.
Obstacles
The communication challenges faced
They wanted to create a new web site to achieve two purposes:

to
recruit more volunteers and update them on the life of Pets
on Wheels. |
| b. |
raise awareness,
and raise funding. |
Design
Response
The steps and solution taken by the CreateAThon design team
In record time, a team of two CreateAThon volunteers designed a
format for the site that could house their online store of volunteer
outfits, as well as feature video of their president. The design
featured many wonderful images from the group’s events and
of their animal volunteers.
