Situation
Summary background of the organization
A free, full-day, year-round child development center dedicated to serving the homeless infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their families living in shelters and transitional homes in the District of Columbia. Bright Beginnings serves over 150 children, and maintains an enrollment of over 80 children and features programs in family services, family wellness, and therapeutic services.

Obstacles
The communication challenges faced
This group had plenty of vision, but no resources internally to create their web site. Their current site had a childlike appearance…but was aimed at an adult audience. This hindered their ability to gain prominence to eventually expand their program offerings. This group was focused intently on their mission, and was looking for an objective outside point of view to help them move forward.

Design Response
The steps and solution taken by the CreateAThon design team
Inspired by stellar, professional photography donated from a generous source, the site was created to showcase their programs and increase their profile in the community. The site features the ability to donate via Network for Good and Paypal, success stories and highlights important events that help fund the center.
