Organization: Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project

Situation
Summary background of the organization
This group strives to prevent domestic violence through by giving Asian Pacific Islander abused women access to culturally and linguistically responsive resources to raise awareness. In addition, this group united communities against domestic violence.

Obstacles
The communication challenges faced
The group’s current materials lacked a unified presence and look. The text needed focus and organization. They needed direct-mail elements that reflected their mission accurately and effectively communicated the group’s purpose.

Design Response
The steps and solution taken by the CreateAThon design team

The logo was reworked to clarify and strengthen the image. An overall format and look was developed for future publications and web presence. A brochure was designed with a color scheme, stemming from the logo to give a strong presence to reflect the importance of the issue. Text was developed that was tighter and more direct. The home page for DVRP’s web site was also reworked to unify the online presence of the group with their new look. From this, the group has a visual tool-box, of sorts, to use for future organizational communication materials.
